This Thursday, 3rd July see's the results from the creative film makers at brasher who demonstrated some great movie making skills during their SS09 Product Launch . Within our groups three different films were made but only one can be being chosen as the official winner.
Filming took place during two days of outdoor activities which included camping, mountain biking and canoeing. Joy and Rose from Holmeground Productions have been busy editing the footage and we'll finally get to see the finished results.
Don't forget you can see the winning film here on our blog so check it out on Friday and we'll be showing the out takes at a later date (I'm sure there'll be plenty!).

You're invited to the live brasher web chat.
Brasher's very own Philippe Galland, will be taking questions on the outdoorsmagic web site, this Monday in a live web chat.
Two one hour sessions are scheduled between 12.00pm and 1.00pm, then at 6.00pm-7.00pm.
And we'd love to see you there.
Philippe, not only has enormous experience in the performance footwear category, but is an all-round outdoorsman too, adding climbing and mountain-bike to his, (as you'd expect), passion for hillwalking and trekking of all descriptions. (He even managed to convince his new bride last year that the Andes were the perfect honeymoon location.)
Philippe will be online to take your questions and offer his expert knowledge on a whole range of topics and issues pertaining to the great outdoors.
Everything from how our products are performance tested to his favourite outdoor routes.
From what you can expect from the brasher development teams in the coming seasons to why the web is an invaluable tool in developing our products and keeping in touch with our user base.
From what you should have in your backpack to the pitfalls of climbing after a whisky-tasting!
So put the 30th in your diary and join our web chat next Monday.

An email from Margit Lechner popped into our in box this week.
Margit a keen walker, works for W L Gore, (who know a thing or two about outdoor performance wear of course.)
She recently got a pair of our Supalite GTX boots.
Here's her experience:
"About two weeks ago I spent a hiking weekend in Glen Coe, Scottish Highlands. I wore the boots first time on a 9 hour walk on Saturday and a 6 hour walk the following day. Before we left I was a bit concerned that I could make it with brand new footwear without getting sore - but I did!
Well done, Brasher!
A nice, first hand, (first foot?) account of someone finding out for themselves about the legendary 'out of the box' comfort our boots are renowned for.
If you've got any similar stories, we'd love to hear them.

Our inbox is over-flowing this week.
We got this glowing report from walker Steve Heseltine.
"Dear Brasher,
I've owned a pair of Hillmasters for a couple of years now and we've been happy together strolling about the South Downs - very nice, nothing too challenging.
I thought I'd treat them to a weekend away, something a little more testing and, along with a group of friends we walked the Yorkshire 3 Peaks.
A stern test indeed!
Picture the scene in the Penygent Cafe car park afterwards - a showing of feet!
In amongst a sea of blisters, needles for the pricking thereof, iodine and lint-free dressings, was one pair of pristine (ok, fairly) feet - mine.
I really can't think of a finer testimonial for your product. I can't say my feet didn't ache but compared to my fellow walkers I was in podiatrist's heaven - so many thanks and keep up the good work!!
Steve Heseltine"
Thanks for taking the trouble to write Steve.
We wondered about asking you if you had any close up photos of your companions sea of blisters.
But then we thought, no.
Let's just let the 'theatre of the mind' conjure up that one.
Monday 9th June saw the beginning of brasher's Spring Summer 2009 Product Launch and Conference. Starting at our offices in Sunderland we were given a preview of our new range of performance footwear and supporting marketing campaign.
Then it was off to the Lake District. Armed with video cameras we had the task of working in teams to produce a short film of each of our groups in their 'outdoor playground'. In this case it was Ullswater where we spent the night under canvas.

Our second day was jam packed. Organised by outdoor expert, John White we had a go at mountain biking, walking and canoeing. The biking was hard work but great fun and was followed by a five mile walk around the lake. We finished the day canoeing but with a helping hand from the wind a few of us ended up paddling in the wrong direction.
Don't forget we were filming our adventures as the day progressed and we captured some great footage. Holmeground Productions, the film company who supplied the equipment have the mammoth task of editing the films. The winning film will be decided on 3rd July and will appear on the brasher blog so make sure you check it out!
If you would like a preview of the fun we had check out the photo's on the brasher flickr site.
