What can you do for your first wedding anniversary?

The answer is simple....take your wife camping in Scotland and celebrate the day with a mountain bike race!!! That's what Philippe Galland, our footwear product manager has done.

There is nothing better to strengthen your relationship than sitting on the saddle for a few hours and getting wet, cold and muddy. We all know the magic benefits of mud - women pay thousands of pounds in spa's for these treatments. Philippe's way is cheaper and works just as well...possibly!

"We missed last years race as it was our wedding day. The Merida Marathon is a great event and the Scottish Borders is a fantastic venue. We were here for the fun of it and not to take it too fast. Our time was good despite the slippery muddy conditions and we will definitely come back again next year."

I am sure this happy outdoor couple Philippe and Clare will enjoy more adventures soon so watch this space!

The guys from Dale Studios have sent us an update on the training they've been doing in preparation for the 24hour Three Peaks Challenge they are taking part in on 30th August.

Oscar has kindly given us an account of their recent day out in The Peak District.

"Going up Kinder Scout, the highest point in the Peak District, was our first real test to see how our training has helped develop our climbing skills. We had intended to go to Scafell Pike but due to various reasons ended up in the Peak District.

Once we started walking we found that our legs were stronger and our stamina had greatly improved. My new boots helped, supporting my feet when they needed it the most and I particularly found the brasher wallking poles took the pressure off my legs allowing me to climb for a longer period of time.

As a team we have bonded together well and if one of us is struggling we are encouraged on by the rest of the group.

We made good time (about an hour and a half) and the view was well worth the effort! Standing on the peak was amazing due to the brilliant view and as you can see from the photos we all enjoyed ourselves.

My only worry of the day was whether I scared too many people wearing my balaclava whilst carrying two lethal looking walking poles"

Last week brasher took to the hills along with a team from Berghaus and mountaineer Sir Chris Bonnington.

I was tempted to wear my Hillmaster boots but thought I would try out my new Lairg GTX. I was slightly apprehensive as I didn't have time to wear them beforehand so thought I'd test out our claim of 'out of the box comfort'!

Starting at Braithwaite we walked our own variation of the Coledale Horseshoe! After 10miles I can honestly say that my feet were feeling fine...just wish I could have said the same about my weary legs!

It was a great day with perfect weather and the views were fantastic.

We finished the walk with a well deserved pint at The Coledale Inn which was the perfect end to a day.

Dale Studios, a graphic and promotions company based in Leicester have put together a team consisiting of Dale, Ben, Owen, Oscar and Andy who are all taking part in a 24hour Three Peaks Challenge to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

brasher have equipped the guys with the kit they'll need and they are currently all training hard to get in some practice before August 30th when they will be put to the test!

Dale has told us that "Training has been going really well, especially as we now have our brilliant brasher kit to break in. We're currently doing 12 mile walks with hill reps twice a week. Our best time so far is 2 hours and 32 minutes. We're all going to Scafell Pike on Sunday 20th July to test out the kit and familiarise ourselves with the surroundings as this will be the mountain we'll tackle during nightfall. Ben is also taking on Snowdon on August 12th so we'll have some real mountain experience under our respective belts! As far as fundraising is going, we have team shirts, leaflets, posters, and banners and we have secured a luxury weekwnd in Kilworth House Hotel as our main prize in our charity raffle."

You can see more photo's of the team on Flickr along with some of their personal statements and we'll be posting regular updates of how they're getting on here on our blog.

The three films Put a Sock In It, A Legend is Born and Come Hill or High Water which were produced during brasher's SS09 Product Launch last month were judged at a special screening at brasher HQ.

There was a real cinema style theme as we were all treated to popcorn, nachos and hotdogs.

All three films were of an extremely high standard and great fun to watch.

The judges John White, Richard Bailey, Deb Parsons and Joy Grinstead from Holmeground Productions had the tough decision of choosing a winner. After much deliberation they decided that Come Hill or High Water was the winning film. I think you'll agree it was a worthy winner!
