Darren Smith sent us through some photos of some of the great trips he has been on wearing his Hillmaster's.

His adventures have taken him from Snowdonia to the Lakes including Scafell and the Langdales

Darren has also been to many places in Scotland - Loch Ossian, Letterewe and Fishfield Wilderness to name but a few and the list continues with Aviemore, Cairngorms and more recently Knoydart.

The fantastic photos were taken whilst Darren was relaxing at Loch Ossian and on the beach at Fionn Loch, Fisherfield.

An email was recently sent to us from Peter Tanner who in July this year went trekking in Peru, taking in the sights of the Inca Trail and Bolivia. He first got in touch with us for advice as to which footwear would be best suitable for this type of trip.

"I have just returned from 5 weeks in South America and wanted to say how delighted I was with the Towa GTX boots I was recommended. I only bought them 10 days before I left but managed to get a good hilly hike near my home and they were perfect straight from the box. They withstood temperatures ranging from -15 to 30C and never once caused me any discomfort,.

The Levanto shoes I wore for just about everything else that did not justify the Towa boots - on board flights, urban walking, hiking, riding mountain bikes and of course for sitting comfortably in bars and restaurants! The locals seemed fascinated by the eye-catching bright red colour and in the Amazon Basin even a red Howler monkey came to take a look!"

You can see more of the great photos which Peter kindly sent us on our flickr page.

Gerald Dowsett and his wife Liz have recently returned from a fantastic walking trip which took them high into the Italian Alps at heights of over 3,300 metres.

Mike got in touch with us as he needed a part for his trusty brasher Hillmaster pole which he was taking with him on his trip. As promised he sent us a couple of photos of how he got on.

"We stayed in the beautiful old 12th Century town of Bornio in Northern Italy where we walked some marvellous routes. The area is a warren of good, excellently marked and graded walking routes and a bonus is that it doubles up as a ski resort in the winter."

The photo below is taken at the head of a valley overlooking St. Moritz on the Swiss side.

This second picture is of Gerald's wife Liz and I think you'll agree it looks like they had a fantastic time!

What can you do for your first wedding anniversary?

The answer is simple....take your wife camping in Scotland and celebrate the day with a mountain bike race!!! That's what Philippe Galland, our footwear product manager has done.

There is nothing better to strengthen your relationship than sitting on the saddle for a few hours and getting wet, cold and muddy. We all know the magic benefits of mud - women pay thousands of pounds in spa's for these treatments. Philippe's way is cheaper and works just as well...possibly!

"We missed last years race as it was our wedding day. The Merida Marathon is a great event and the Scottish Borders is a fantastic venue. We were here for the fun of it and not to take it too fast. Our time was good despite the slippery muddy conditions and we will definitely come back again next year."

I am sure this happy outdoor couple Philippe and Clare will enjoy more adventures soon so watch this space!

Dale's latest venture has taken him up Scafell Pike. This gave him the chance to get some practice for the Three Peaks Challenge which he is tackling with Owen, Andy, Oscar and Ben on 30th August.

There wasn't much of a view from the top or even the bottom of Scafell as it was in the clouds, however it was a great experience.

When the guys actually come to trek up Scafell Pike it will be in darkness which will make it even more challenging.

You can see more photos of the guys on flickr.
